Influencers from around the world to share their knowledge and experience at the two-day One Billion Followers Summit

More than 100 influencers followed by billions of people will share their knowledge and experiences at a summit in Dubai. The One Billion Followers Summit, the world’s largest event of its kind, kicks off in Dubai on Saturday.

More than 3,000 people, 200 CEOs, more than 300 international companies specializing in content creation and more than 100 international agencies working in this field will attend the summit, which will include a series of workshops and debates in its two-day agenda.

Participants include international companies such as Meta, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, Etihad Airways, Nas Daily, Vice, Monk-E, Digisay, Finnet Media, One Digital Entertainment, WebTV Asia and Warner Bros Discovery.

Alia Al Hammadi, CEO of the New Media Academy, highlighted the importance of social media in leading the development process worldwide. He noted that social media platforms have become an essential part of media in all its forms.

Al Hammadi said: “The Billion Summit is part of the New Media Academy, which aims to educate and train the new generation in the field of media and digital content through a wide range of programmes, events and workshops”.

“Based on its mission to prepare communication experts and managers within the government and private sector, the New Media Academy aims, through this Summit, to provide the necessary means and tools to participants and help them to develop their capabilities to improve their professional opportunities and paths”, he added.

Alia Al Hammadi noted that His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, has launched the New Media Academy as a content creation and education platform with the aim of lead the presence of Emiratis and Arabs in the digital sphere through social media platforms.

The summit consists of several workshops and debates, as well as a series of keynote sessions. In attendance will be a group of well-known personalities, who played a prominent role in creating content and influencing global opinion through social media platforms.

During the summit, Nuseir Yassin, CEO and founder of Nas Company, will talk about content creators and how they will conquer the world. Matthew Patrick, known as MatPat on YouTube, will summarize 10 years of content creation in just 20 minutes. More than 40 Arab and international influencers and content creators will participate in the sessions, workshops and discussions on the first day.

The schedule also includes prominent participation from TikToker Mai, known as Mai and Mama Wafa, as well as Abdullah Annan; Ahmed Sharif; Omar Al Heloo; Nasser Alaqeel; and Maitha Mohamed (@mythjourney). Kuwaiti content creator Issa Alhabib will participate as moderator.

The program will include a series of keynote sessions during which a panel of global influencers and content creators will discuss the tools and ways that make you a transcontinental star, and how to get started and attract your first follower.

The first day includes three workshops, covering a number of prominent topics in the field of social media content creation, and how to positively influence global public opinion on a number of important issues such as education, finance and others.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a series of sessions covering the creation of meaningful and sustainable content, and the skills needed to ensure continuity of work across various social media platforms, as well as methods and tools highlights needed to create successful and influential videos.

The second day of the summit includes more than 20 sessions during which various influencers and specialists from the world of content creation will speak, including influencer and entrepreneur Karen Wazen; Layla Tamim; Muhammad Orfali; Eman Sobhi; Zaina Khaled; Ahmed El Ghandour; Alaa Wardi; Vishen Lakhiani, founder of Mindvalley; and Jordan Matter, a creator who tells stories through images.

Eli Yonas, Head of Developer Partnerships for CEE/MEA Reality Labs at Meta; Anas Marwah; Ahmed Al Marzouki; Abdullah Al Bandar; Saif Al Dahab; Tariq Yassin; Fred Chong, Viraj Seth, Gurpreet Singh and Hussein Al Atoli, along with a bevy of social media stars and influencers, are also participating.
