CHENNAI: Two were killed and nine others injured in a collision between a bus and a truck in a village near Padur on Thursday evening.
The Uthiramerur police said a truck coming from a nearby quarry allegedly collided with an MTC bus bound for Kancheepuram from Padur around 4.15 pm. All the injured, including a three-year-old girl, were undergoing treatment at the Chengalpattu Government Hospital.
The deceased have been identified as A Radhi (30) and Punitha (51). Punitha was a nurse at the primary health center in Padur. The three-year-old (Radhi’s daughter) was in a critical condition. On witnessing the accident, passers-by rescued the injured and sent them to the Chengalpattu Government Hospital. The police found the bodies and sent them for an autopsy.
