The Corporate Social Responsibility arm of the Diversified Adani Group, Adani Foundation, plans to strengthen its presence in Jharkhand to drive initiatives in education, sustainable lifestyle, healthcare, community infrastructure and empowerment. It is now operating in Godda and expanding its presence in Hazaribag.
This month, 25 women from Hazaribagh visited Chhattisgarh’s Surguja district to learn about Adani Foundation’s CSR initiatives that empower and benefit locals in a tribal area. Recently, the Foundation identified 10 students from Hazaribagh to train them at the state-of-the-art Adani Skill Development Center in Surguja district of Chhattisgarh where they were also provided free hostel and food. The Center also helped them get a job with a Pune-based company.
Adani Group’s commercial mining project in Gondalpura Panchayat under Barkagaon block is scheduled to become operational by the end of 2023. Recently, the district administration also successfully organized gram sabhas for this mining project. Adani Group’s increasing investments in Hazaribagh and Jharkhand will further enhance employment opportunities and CSR initiatives for local residents. Adani Foundation covers nearly 40 lakh beneficiaries in 2409 villages across 16 states in India.
Over the past few months, the Adani Foundation has surveyed and surveyed Hazaribagh district to identify priority areas of intervention. It includes visits to women in Chhattisgarh, renovation of wells, installation of solar street lights, animal health camps, mega health camps and expansion of infrastructure and equipment at Gondalpura health sub-centres.
Meanwhile, Adani Foundation has already organized a series of CSR programs in Balodar, Gali, Gondalpura, Hahe and Phulang villages in Barkagoan block. She organized more than a dozen health camps that benefited a large number of children, women and the elderly with treatment and medicines at no cost. In addition, Adani Foundation has adopted 60 TB patients and provides them with free nutritious food. To ensure a bright future for students in rural areas, the Foundation also organizes remedial classes that they can attend without worrying about tuition fees. The foundation has assigned two teachers to Harley High School to teach science to the students.
In June, the Adani family made a donation of Rs 60,000 crore to a number of social causes to be addressed by the Adani Foundation. While announcing one of the country’s largest CSR initiatives, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said, “Our expertise in planning and executing large-scale projects and learning from the work done by the Adani Foundation will help us uniquely accelerate these programs. This contribution from the Adani family aims to benefit some of the brightest minds who are passionate about changing the path of the Adani Foundation to do more to fulfill our philosophy of ‘Growth with Kindness’.
