Jack Stacey is the latest AFC Bournemouth player to talk to us about the mid-season break in Dubai.

The right-back, along with the rest of the squad, has been tested by Gary O’Neil in recent days.

He sat down with afcb.co.uk to give his review of the trip to Dubai at the end of day three:

meIt was great to have a two week break. We have such a strong squad here so that should be an advantage for us. We had a few days training in Bournemouth in the wind and rain but it’s nice to be able to come here and do some warm weather training. It took some getting used to, but I think it will be very beneficial for the second half of the season.

I think luckily some of us were out in warmer climes so that probably helped a bit more with the training. Again, hopefully that will be an advantage when we come back as we will be even fitter.

I think it’s good to go out together for a week. Obviously we’re training hard, but it’s also the little things like having breakfast, lunch and dinner together. Things like this will only bring us closer as a group, which is a huge asset.

I probably speak for most of the guys because we really enjoyed seeing Gary get the job. From the moment he entered, he breathed fresh air. Some of the performances were really good and hopefully we can carry that into the second half of the season.

It’s different having a break in the season, but honestly, I think I’ll probably get used to it. It’s nice to have a reset to have a few weeks off while you feel mentally refreshed. You also have extra motivation to return to football. For me, I’m in favor of it.

As for the World Cup, I enjoyed watching it during the break and England looked good! I think we’re going all the way, but we’ll see.
