According to the latest fuel dealers’ price notification, petrol and diesel prices are stable in major cities on November 28.
Petrol and diesel prices vary from country to country depending on various criteria such as Value Added Tax (VAT), transport costs, local taxes, etc.
Public sector OMCs including Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) revise their prices daily in line with international reference prices and exchange rates.
Breakdown across the city
inside Delhipetrol and diesel cost Rs 96.72/litre and Rs 89.62/litre respectively.
inside Mumbaipetrol is sold at Rs 106.31/litre and diesel at Rs 94.27/litre.
The price of petrol and diesel is Rs 102.63/litre and Rs 94.24/litre in Chennai and at Rs.106.03/litre and Rs.92.76/litre v Kolkataor
On May 21 this year, the last change in fuel prices across the country was when Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reduced the excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per liter and on diesel by Rs 6 per litre.
