The 24-hour Hackathon was held over two days, October 26-27, at the Dubai Knowledge Park Conference Center. Held in partnership with Dubai Media City, Dubai International Academic City and Dubai Knowledge Park, the competition was aimed at students aged 18-25.

The competition was judged by a panel of industry experts including Till Hohmann, Memac Ogilvy MENA Regional CCO; Maian Alken, TBWA/RAAD Associate Creative Director; Khaled Hatrash, COO of Dubai Studio City, and Diana Wilde, co-founder of Aurora50.

Aurora50’s goal was to create a marketing plan for its curated discussions called Table Talks, with the goal of building inclusive leaders and teams by exploring issues of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Students participated from universities such as Murdoch University Dubai, Manipal University Dubai, University of Wollongong Dubai, Heriot-Watt University Dubai and Middlesex University Dubai, to present their solutions and strategies over the two days.

The Dubai Lynx have also announced two more student competitions, including a student-integrated competition where students must present a campaign using three forms of media in response to the brief set by the UAE’s UNstereotype alliance. And a cover competition for students, in collaboration with Campaign ME, to create the cover of the Saudi Supplement 2023 edition. The deadline for competitions is 15 December 2022.

Dubai Lynx is MENA’s premier creativity festival, bringing together MENA’s creative marketing community to learn, connect and celebrate the power of creativity. The Dubai Lynx Festival and Awards will take place on March 14-15.
