Chennai: Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated health centers at five major temples in Tamil Nadu including Madurai Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple through video conferencing on Friday.
During the 2021-22 grant requests, the HR and CE announced that health centers would be set up in major temples across the country that attract large crowds. Such health centers were opened in 10 temples earlier this year. Temples that already have the facility include the Tiruchendur Subramaniaswamy Temple, Thiruvannamalai Arunachaleswarar temple, Melmalayanur Angalaparameswari. This year, it was announced that five more temples will get medical centers. The centers were inaugurated at Meenakshi Amman Temple, Kallazhagar Temple in Madurai, Irukkankudi Arulmigu Mariamman Temple in Virudhunagar District, Arulmigu Bannari Amman Temple in Erode District and Arulmigu Sankaranarayanaswamy Temple in Sankarankovil. These were revealed by the CM through a video conference from Chennai.
These centers are equipped with first aid rooms, oxygen cylinders, beds and emergency medicine. Doctors and multidisciplinary medical staff would be present during the darshan hours. All the five centers opened on Friday are set up near temples. etc
