Overview:
The World Bank is recruiting for an experienced Program Assistant at their Chennai location. The Program Assistant position will report to the WFA Chennai Manager (WFACO) who is responsible for the management of the WFA Chennai teams and will support the WFA Chennai Manager in day-to-day administrative tasks and provide programmatic support to the WFA teams as required.

What will you do:
Providing administrative assistance to WFA Chennai Manager. This includes but is not limited to:
Scheduling meetings with various persons/departments in Chennai HQ, external partners, stakeholders
Manage your manager’s calendar and appointments; and
Coordinates presentations and other discussion materials for management meetings
Provide logistical support for senior staff visiting Chennai.
Provide programmatic support for WFA Chennai activities including but not limited to learning program, career guidance, diversity and inclusion, WFA asset inventory management.
Organize and conduct events including seminars, staff meetings, knowledge forums, etc. while communicating with various hotels in the city and negotiating rates for business lunches, banquets, knowledge forums, etc.
Manage content in SharePoint for various group purposes and act as an administrator for the same.
Coordinate with transaction processing team to create purchase orders, service entry sheets and payments.
Coordinate with LARS & TRS coordinators in the unit for timely submission of time and leave records by WFA staff in Chennai office.
Coordinate with Chennai units to update BCP records including call tree.
Performs ad-hoc duties as required and serves as support to any function assigned by the Head of WFA Chennai.

Qualifications for this position:
Degree in any discipline, with 3+ years of experience in relevant field.
Master of Business Administration (MBA) will be an added advantage.
Strong communicator
Mastery of Microsoft Office tools and a basic understanding of information systems and the use of new technologies.
Effective time management and organizational skills; Project management skills will be an added advantage
Demonstrated self-initiative and resourcefulness;
Mastery of written and oral English language skills.
Good interpersonal skills with proven ability to be a good team player
High level of personal and professional integrity
