Barkagaon, November 28: Adani Foundation on Monday distributed food kits among 60 TB patients in the second phase of Gondalpura mining project. Earlier on September 22, food kits were distributed to them in the first phase.
This kit distributed by Pradhan Mantri Nikshay Poshan Yojana includes diet ingredients like Horlicks, Chyawanprash, Dal, Chana, Jaggery, Moong and mustard oil etc. All these patients are financially weak and are adopted by Adani Foundation.
Addressing the program organized at Barkagaon Community Health Centre, Chief Guest Hazaribagh District TB Specialist RK Jaiswal said this effort of Adani Foundation is highly commendable. He said that Adani Foundation’s cooperation will help in efforts to reduce the number of TB patients. It also informs common people about the symptoms of tuberculosis and suggests ways to prevent it.
Barkagaon Medical Officer Dr BN Prasad, who was present at the programme, urged common people not to hide diseases like tuberculosis. “The right treatment at the right time can get rid of TB forever,” he added.
District Program Coordinator Tipu Sultan said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set a target of making the country TB-free by 2025, in which such efforts will pay dividends. Appreciating this initiative of Adani Foundation, he said that after this programme, more companies working in this field will reach out to TB patients in the coming days. This foundation effort will prove to be a milestone.
General Manager and Site Head of Adani Enterprises Limited Dharmendra Dubey said that charitable activities are being done continuously by Adani Foundation. The Adani Foundation team is excited to undertake more CSR initiatives.
