Actors Gautham Karthik and Manjima Mohan tied the knot in a traditional ceremony in Chennai on Monday, November 28. Close friends and family members are expected to attend the wedding. Several members of the film industry were present, including filmmakers Mani Ratnam, Gautham Menon and Aishwarya Rajinikanth, actors Vikram Prabhu, RK Suresh, Sivakumar, Ashok Selvan, Aadhi Pinisetty and Nikki Galrani. Photos from the couple’s wedding are pouring in on social media. Manjima is seen in an embellished white saree paired with gold jewellery, while Gautham Karthik is seen in a white suit and shirt.
Gautham Karthik is the son of veteran Kollywood actor Murali Karthikeyan Muthuraman – better known by his stage name Karthik – and Ragini. Manjima is the daughter of veteran film director Vipin Mohan and dancer Girija. Manjima and Gautham teamed up for the first time for a Tamil film Devarattam, directed by M Muthaiah. According to media reports, the couple started dating in 2019.
Gautham and Manjima also shared photos from the wedding on social media. The Pathu Thala the actor shared the photos along with the caption, “Now and forever”. The actors also held a pre-wedding press conference last week and shared pictures from the photo shoot on social media.
The two actors officially announced their relationship in early October. In a post on Instagram, Manjima wrote: “Three years ago, when I was completely lost, you came into my life as a guardian angel. You changed my outlook on life and helped me realize how blessed I am!! Every time I feel like a complete mess, you pull me up. You taught me to accept my mistakes and be who I am many times over. And the best thing I love about you is how much you love me for who I am! You are and always will be my favorite everything.”
In his post, Gautham wrote that they started off as friends and eventually became close to each other and became partners. “We started by always joking with each other, always bickering and arguing about the stupidest things. Even our friends couldn’t stand our arguments. But I didn’t know you were creating a bond, a beautiful bond between us. I decided to call this bond ‘friendship’ first. But it was stronger than that… You kept growing it… I called it ‘best friends’. But he was getting stronger even than that… You nurtured him every day… You were getting stronger and stronger day by day. Day by day you make ME stronger and stronger than I ever believed I could be.” Kadal wrote the actor in October.
