Kerala Woman Marries Chennai After Facing Obstacles; The referee brings the pair together via video call | News Bharat

In yet another tumultuous love story, the couple eloped and got married after facing obstacles from the girl’s family.

The duo Kamaleswaran (22) is a first year student of economics at Madras University from Tiruvottiyur, Chennai, while Sajitha (22) from Kerala is a third year student at the same university. In a WhatsApp group created to share syllabus, the duo met and exchanged information related to the subject, allegedly raising doubts.

As days passed, Sajitha fell in love with Kamaleswaran and after almost two weeks, Kamaleswaran accepted Sajitha’s wish to marry him after she expressed it first. Later, when Sajitha left for her home in Thrissur, Kerala, her brother came to know about the couple’s relationship and threatened her.

According to the police, Sajitha’s parents started looking for a groom for their daughter. Inconsolable over this, Kamaleswaran invited her to Chennai. After that, Sajitha allegedly left home, boarded a train to Chennai and reached the main railway station. When Kamaleswaran accepted her and introduced Sajitha to his parents, they consented to their marriage and the young couple recently got married at the Muthumariamman Temple in Parrys Corner, Chennai.

Meanwhile, Sajitha’s parents filed a missing complaint at a police station in Kerala, speculating that she might have traveled to Chennai at the same time. The Kerala Police then registered a case and also traveled to Chennai based on the complaint and searched Kamleswaran’s home. Knowing that the Kerala police would come looking for them, the duo allegedly spent the day on buses and the night on railway station platforms.

At one point, he and the lawyer sought safety at the Tiruvottiyur police station. When the Kerala police arrived, they ordered that Sajitha be brought to Kerala so that she could appear before a judge. Although Sajith’s family made efforts to bring her to Kerala, the woman was not at all willing, police said.

As Sajitha appeared stubborn, the Kerala police had no choice but to present her before the Kerala Magistrate via video call. While the judge questioned Sajitha about this, she was given permission to go with Kamaleswaran as she requested.
