Latest petrol and diesel prices in major metropolitan cities
The retail prices of petrol and diesel in Delhi are currently Rs 96.72 and Rs 89.62 per liter respectively, as per the latest update.
In Mumbai, a liter of petrol costs Rs 106.31 and a liter of diesel costs Rs 94.27.
In NOIDA, diesel price is Rs 89.96 and petrol is Rs 96.79.
In Kolkata petrol price is Rs. 106.03 and diesel is Rs. 92.76 liters.
People in Chandigarh have to pay Rs 84.26 for diesel and Rs 96.29 for petrol.
A liter of petrol costs Rs 102.63 and a liter of diesel costs Rs 94.24 in Chennai.
Fuel prices are revised by public sector oil marketing companies (OMCs) in line with international reference prices and exchange rates. OMCs include Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL).
Differences in local taxes such as VAT and transport costs from country to country affect petrol and diesel prices in different cities.
