Power failure

Chennai: Some parts of Chennai will experience power cuts for a few hours on Saturday, December 3. Tangedco (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Company) has scheduled a power outage tomorrow between 9 am and 2 pm.

The planned power outage is due to the implementation of maintenance work, and if the work is completed early, the supply will be restored before 2 p.m.

Here is a list of areas that will be affected:

Tambaram:

Perumbakkam Shanthi Nagar, Velachery main road, Pushpa Nagar, Ranganathapuram entire area will face power cuts.

Kadappers:

Electricity supply will be interrupted in Maninaikkar, Durgaiamman, Kulakkarai, Lakshmipuram, Bharathidasan and especially in the surrounding areas.

Guindy:

Rajbhavan Kanniamman, Koil Street, Bharathiyar Street Ramapuram, Gandhi Nagar, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Sanjee Avenue Vanuvampet, Muthaiyal Nagar, Pandiamman Koil Street will experience power cuts.

Adambakkam:

Power cut has been planned at Erikkarai Street, Balakrishnapuram Main Road, Alandur GST Road, Teachers Colony Nanganallur 100ft Road, Kannika Colony part, Madipakkam Sheela Nagar, Thanagal Salai and mainly in the surrounding areas.

IT corridor:

Sholinganallur OMR Sholinganallur, Ganesh Nagar, MGR Street and Ezhil Nagar area will face power cuts.

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) was established on 1 July 1957 under Section 54 of the Electricity (Supply) Act, 1948 in the State of Tamil Nadu as a vertically integrated undertaking responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity.

Pursuant to the provisions of Section 131 of the Electricity Act, 2003, TNEB was restructured on 1 November 2010 into TNEB Limited, Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) and Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO).
