Ranveer Singhs Circus Trailer screams Chennai Express but not because of Deepika Padukone | News Bharat

The extremely bright trailer of Rohit Shetty’s upcoming film Ranveer Singh, Circus, is finally out. Starring Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde, Johnny Lever and Varun Sharma, the first look of the action-comedy promises Chennai Express-esque wild ride set against pastures so green, your eyes will need a moment to recover!

What the trailer reveals about the incomprehensible plot of ‘Circus’

The story seems to be set in the 1960s and the main character, a circus star played by Ranveer, seems to run through not only electricity but also a doppelganger. He navigates his complicated love stories with two women, played by Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez, while trying to uncover the secret of his humshakal and “flow” power.

But more than the story, the main takeaway is the terrible color correction of the trailer, seeing such hues dulls the other senses to the point where one hardly remembers to follow the action.

It looks and feels so similar to “Chennai Express”

Here we see an unusual but *very* colorful rendering of what the film claims to be Ooty, but it looks very similar to the place shown in Chennai Express. There are many scenes showing neon green tea gardens way Chennai Express was shotthough you could never accuse a 2013 action comedy of such a god-like level of oversaturation.

The same scenes of people arranging flowers in baskets and women standing in front of green meadows are also shown. Train journeys through beautiful landscapes, hero-heroine driving through the city in similar cars – all this gives us Chennai Express Deja-vu. Rohit Shetty’s signature slapstick comedy is of course present here as well.

Pooja Hegda’s look and vibe is so similar to Deepika’s in ‘Chennai Express’

The style and look of Pooja’s character mainly has a 60s vibe, but in one shot she looks very similar Deepika’s Meenamma from Chennai Express, we did a double take! Her cynical distrust of the hero is also very relatable, so we really hope the characters don’t end up feeling repetitive after we see the actual movie!

The most epic thing is Deepika Padukone’s special appearance at the end of the trailer

Although we have to admit we almost didn’t notice Deepika Padukone as the bright colors left us a bit disoriented, we ended up processing the fact that she appears towards the end of the trailer dancing with Ranveer to a song that reads: “The current laga re.”

Of course, it’s great to see Deepika in this fun avatar, especially with Ranveer, but more than that, we’re thankful that no one thought of doing a remix”Babuji zara dheere chalo, bijli khadi yahan bijli khadi.” Thank goodness for small graces, we think!

So, what do you think of the trailer? Are you in love with Ranveer Singh’s Circus?
