Kids, hoping to be on the “nice” list, can even send their letters and wish lists through a giant mailbox set up on site.
With Christmas just around the corner, Santa Claus and Mrs Claus have opened their ‘house’ to visitors at Expo City Dubai, and it’s been such an exciting experience for children in the emirate.
The legacy site of the Expo is a smart, futuristic city, but for the festive season it has been transformed into a magical winter wonderland. And the main attraction? A replica of Santa’s house, the first of its kind, with its rocking chair and fireplace in a cozy living room.
With Santa’s elves always ready to help around every corner and streets dotted with Christmas trees, this ‘Winter City’ opened to everyone on November 23rd and will be spreading festive cheer until January 8th.
In addition to visiting the cool house of the Clauses and meeting the famous couple in Santa’s grotto, visitors can also enjoy a market and a mini carnival set up in a snowy village.
Little ones, hoping to be on the “nice” list, can even send their letters and wish lists through the giant letterbox set up on site.
Those looking for an extra adventure can try ice skating on Opti’s frozen lake, or even take a thrilling ride on an alpine zip line.
Another attraction is the build-a-bear stall, and the Wasl Plaza, which turns into a giant snow globe, with special projection shows from 6pm, Wednesday to Sunday.
Entry to Winter City is free, with charges applicable for some activities and workshops. It is open from 3pm to 11pm every day until December 9.
From December 10 to January 1, the hours will be from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and from January 2 to January 8, 2023, it will be from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
