Tamil Nadu Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader K Annamalai on Tuesday met Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi and urged him to initiate an inquiry into Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s alleged security lapse during his visit to the state to inaugurate the Chess Olympiad. in July at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium.

Addressing the media after meeting the governor, Annamalai stated that the BJP state unit handed over a memorandum to the governor detailing inadequate security during the Prime Minister’s visit to the state during the Chess Olympiad event led by MK Stalin. Tamil Nadu State Government.

According to Annamalai, the metal detectors were not in working condition.

“The metal detectors were not working well. All of them were in bad condition, some were not even fit for work,” he said.

Urging the Chief Minister to take necessary action at the earliest, he said, “Tamil Nadu government should take necessary action against the officials who were in charge of security”.

In his memorandum, Annamalai requested the governor to conduct independent audits of metal detectors in Tamil Nadu.

In a series of tweets, Annamalai accused the state government of security lapses and wrote, “Today, along with other senior leaders of BJP Tamil Nadu, we met the Governor of Tamil Nadu to present a memorandum on the grave security lapse that has been committed. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Govt during Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Chennai on July 28-29, 2022,” he tweeted.

“The worst part is that the Tamil Nadu government is now trying to cover it up. We present our memorandum with evidence of wrongdoing by the State Government. No one feels safe under the rule of the DMK government in Tamil Nadu,” he added in another tweet.

Addressing another issue in the state as mentioned in the memorandum submitted to the governor, Annamalai in his tweet further wrote, “We also submitted a memorandum on the rampant corruption in the conduct of Jal Jeevan in our state and demanded an independent audit in this matters”.
