CHENNAI: Two teenagers who did not have a valid driving license were killed when the two-wheeler they were riding crashed into a road junction after the driver tried to avoid a goods transporter, officials said on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as Praveen (19) and Hari (17) of Thanthai Periyar Nagar.

While Praveen was riding the bike, Hari was filming. The video surfaced on social media on Friday.

The incident took place on Tuesday on Taramani Link Road in Chennai.

The police said that the bike was too fast, and at the time of the accident the speed was 114 km per hour.

Spotting the goods being transported in the opposite direction, Praveen hit the brake but lost control of the wheel which collided with the vehicle.

The horrifying accident was also recorded by a helmet camera and went viral. While Praveen died on the same day, Hari died in hospital on Wednesday.

The police have registered a case and started investigation.
