London, December 1, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), the Valuable 500 today announced the achievement of its goal, securing 75 mentees and mentors to become the first cohort of the innovative leadership “Generation Valuable” program from companies on every continent. This follows the launch of the World Economic Forum’s search for tomorrow’s leaders in May this year.
Research shows that marginalized talent often face systemic barriers to advancement, resulting in a shockingly low number of people with disabilities in leadership positions—especially at the executive level and top management. Generation Valuable aims to address each issue by creating an opportunity for one emerging leader from each member company to receive training from some of the world’s leading experts in disability inclusion and leadership development, as well as an internal executive. Gap Mentors for Talents with Disabilities at Level 1. This will open new pathways to the C-Suite level for aspiring disability leaders and caregivers.
Over a 12-month period, mentors will support the development of their mentees by sharing industry insights, encouraging a growth mindset and equipping them with the strategic tools they need to thrive in their business. The program will strengthen participants’ personal leadership identities to foster an environment in which business strategies are executed with an ESG and equity lens.
